Court Orders Seizure Of 20 Properties Owned By Former Argentine President

Date:

An Argentine court has ordered the seizure of 20 properties owned by former President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her family in connection with her fraud conviction in a public works scheme, local media reported Tuesday.

Fernandez, a prominent and polarizing leftist leader who served as president from 2007 to 2015 and later held roles as vice president, senator, and first lady, has been under house arrest since June following the conviction.

Earlier this month, she returned to court for a separate trial facing bribery charges.
