Motorcyclist Dies After Being Run Over by Garbage Truck in Jalan Ipoh

An elderly man was killed after he was run over in a collision involving a motorcycle and a garbage truck along Jalan Ipoh heading towards the Batu Muda People’s Housing Project (PPR) this morning.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, said the incident was reported at approximately 11.13am.

According to initial investigations, the garbage truck was making a left turn from Jalan Ipoh towards Jalan PPR Kampung Batu when a motorcycle coming from Jalan Kampung Batu attempted a right turn, resulting in the crash.

The 79-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe head injuries after falling and being run over by the truck’s rear tyres. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the 51-year-old truck driver was unharmed.

Police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and are urging witnesses to come forward by contacting the Tun H S Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-20719999 or any nearby police station.

Authorities also reminded road users to remain vigilant, especially when turning at intersections, and to ensure their surroundings are safe before proceeding.
