Man Allegedly Holds Woman Hostage for 15 Hours in Apartment Then Claims ‘No Recollection’

Date:

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a woman’s apartment in Asaka City, threatening her with a knife, and sexually assaulting her over a period of 15 hours. The suspect denies the allegations, claiming he has “no memory” of the incident.

According to Saitama Shimbun, the man, an employee at a local company, entered the victim’s apartment at around 2 a.m. on November 8. He reportedly threatened the woman with a knife and forced her to engage in sexual activity, remaining in the apartment until approximately 7 p.m. before fleeing.

The victim’s mother called the police, and investigators reviewed nearby surveillance footage, identifying a man seen lingering in the area. Authorities confirmed that the suspect and the victim were previously unknown to each other. He was arrested on charges of unlawful entry and non-consensual sexual activity.

Police continue to investigate the case.
