The body of a man who was swept away by a sudden surge in the Klang River near Pintasan Saloma on Monday has been recovered at Kampung Sungai Kandis, Shah Alam. Authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity.
Dang Wangi district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, confirmed the discovery of the body at approximately 10:30am. The victim’s remains have been sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination, with a press conference to provide further details planned by police.
Reports indicate that the man was engaged in pipe-upgrading work in the area when the incident occurred. He was attempting to move a vehicle parked under the bridge after noticing the flash flood but was overcome by the strong currents.
The incident involved a total of 13 people under the bridge, including pipe workers and a group of anglers, though the rescued individuals were unharmed. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the flash flood.
