Six Foreigners Denied Entry at Thai-Malaysia Border Over Dubious Tourist Claims

Date:

Six foreigners claiming to be tourists were denied entry at the Thai-Malaysia border in Bukit Kayu Hitam yesterday after being deemed suspicious by the Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA).

Bukit Kayu Hitam MCBA deputy operations commander Adam Hamidi Auliyad Mohd Amran said the individuals — four Syrians (two men and two women), one Indian man and one Bangladeshi man — were found to be “dubious tourists” during entry checks.

All six, believed to be in their 30s and 40s, were issued a Notice of Refusal of Entry under Section 8(3) of the Immigration Act for failing to meet the requirements for entry as visitors.

They were ordered to return to their countries of origin via the same border checkpoint.

“MCBA remains committed to maintaining the highest level of security at the country’s entry points and ensuring they are free from any security threats or abuse,” Adam said.
