Perak MB Welcomes Opposition Leader Back After Six-Month Suspension

Date:

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad officially welcomed state Opposition Leader Razman Zakaria back to the legislative assembly today after his six-month suspension.

Saarani greeted the Gunung Semanggol assemblyman at the start of Question Time, saying, “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back the Opposition leader as he returns to his duty.”

Razman, who also serves as the Perak PAS commissioner, was suspended on April 16 following a motion brought by DAP’s Bercham assemblyman Ong Boon Piow. He was accused of making slanderous and racially charged remarks during the assembly sitting on December 2 last year, claiming that Malaysian citizens had hoisted Chinese national flags at an event in Teluk Intan.

With his suspension now completed, Razman has resumed his role in the assembly.
