A disturbing video clip showing a homeless man being mistreated by a female security guard and another man for sleeping along a walkway has gone viral, prompting widespread anger and condemnation online.
In the footage, the security guard is seen turning on a water hose and spraying directly at the man’s face while he lies curled up on the ground. Moments later, a man wearing a cap approaches aggressively, kicks the victim, and throws his belongings at him. He then picks up the hose and splashes more water at the homeless man, forcing him to stand and leave the area.
The incident, believed to have occurred in Maluri, Kuala Lumpur, was shared across social media platforms including Reddit, where many expressed shock over the lack of empathy displayed.
“Literally kicking a guy while he’s down. Just heartless,” one user commented.
“Whenever I’m told how friendly, polite and kind Malaysians are, I’m reminded of incidents like these,” another wrote.
While some defended the actions, suggesting they were attempts to deter the homeless man from scaring off customers, most netizens criticised the response as inhumane and urged others who may come across him to offer assistance instead.
The clip has intensified calls for greater compassion and responsible treatment of vulnerable members of society.
