A student in Kota Bharu has shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity after an accident left him unable to walk and attend school in the lead-up to his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams.
Mohd Izham Ruzaini Zakaria, an SPM candidate from SMK Sultan Ismail, was involved in an accident at Jalan Sri Cemerlang early last month, resulting in a fractured right thigh, Berita Harian reported.
The injury drastically limited his mobility, allowing him to attend school only twice in the past month—once for the SPM speaking test, and again today for his written examination.
Studying from home, he turned to TikTok and YouTube as his primary revision tools, using the platforms for tutorials, explanations and study tips. His classmates also supported him by sending notes via WhatsApp.
“Throughout that time, I studied on my own at home and referred to TikTok and YouTube for revision. Some of my friends also helped by sending notes via WhatsApp,” he said.
Despite not being able to prepare like other students, Mohd Izham remains positive and determined.
“Even though I didn’t prepare like the others, I’m still ready and motivated to sit for SPM,” he expressed.
His perseverance has inspired many, illustrating how dedication and adaptability can overcome even the most unexpected obstacles.
