A Chinese man tragically lost his life after being crushed beneath a pickup truck while performing maintenance work at a workshop in Miri earlier today.
The incident occurred at a Shell workshop, where the victim was reportedly working underneath the vehicle when a part of the undercarriage—lifted by a jack—suddenly gave way, fatally crushing his head and trapping his right arm.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 11.03am, prompting the deployment of a rescue team from the Miri fire station.
Upon arrival, firefighters used specialized rescue tools to extricate the victim from under the vehicle. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was then handed over to police and Health Ministry personnel for further action.
The case is now under investigation.
