In a heartbreaking turn of events, a two-year-old dog named Kuno was returned to an animal shelter in Gangneung, South Korea, just seven hours after being adopted. The baffling part? His entire body had been shaved—except for his head.
Kuno had been staying at the shelter east of Seoul, patiently waiting for a new home. On July 19, it seemed like his wait was finally over. But the joy was short-lived. His new owner brought him back the very same day, stating, “We cannot raise him with the other dogs.”
The shelter was stunned—not only by the swift return, but by Kuno’s physical state. Before-and-after photos shared by the shelter showed the once-fluffy pup now nearly bald, with only the fur on his head left untouched.

“It’s honestly disheartening to see him abandoned again,” the shelter shared in a heartfelt post. “We’re not sure how to help people see the beauty of his personality anymore.”
Despite the confusion and repeated rejection, Kuno’s spirit remains unbroken. “He still loves people,” the shelter added. “We hope he finds a forever family—someone who won’t make a decision on impulse, but who is truly ready to stay by his side for life.”
