Anwar’s Budget 2026 Passed as Madani Government’s Fourth Spending Plan

The Dewan Rakyat today passed the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026, which was first tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on October 10.

The Bill was approved through a voice vote, with the majority of MPs expressing support.

Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul confirmed the decision after Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan completed the third reading.

Budget 2026 is the fourth budget presented by the Madani Government and the first aligned with the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

Titled “Belanjawan Rakyat” (A Budget for the People), it allocates RM470 billion in total public expenditure. This includes RM338.2 billion for operating costs and RM81 billion for development. Additional funding comes from government-linked investment companies (RM30 billion), public-private initiatives (RM10 billion), and federal statutory bodies together with MOF Inc. companies (RM10.8 billion).
