A shocking case has emerged in Teluk Intan, Malaysia, where a 77-year-old Chinese man was found dead in his ancestral home after being reported missing for several days. Police, responding to a distress call, forced entry into the house and discovered a human skull and two bones believed to belong to the missing man.
The deceased is suspected to be Hua Yunping, 77, the youngest son of the late Hua Jingyu, who was the first MCA (Malaysian Chinese Association) state assemblyman for Pasir Bedamar in Teluk Intan. Reports indicate that Hua Yunping never married and had been living alone in his family’s old wooden double-storey home in Sungai Limau for over a decade after retiring from his computer business in Kuala Lumpur.
Police received a report last Saturday from Hua’s 78-year-old elder brother, Hua Yunmian, who said his brother had not been seen for several days. Concern grew when Yunping failed to show up at their sister’s house for meals, as was his routine. When the family visited the home, they received no response at the door and detected a foul smell coming from inside, prompting them to contact the police.
Upon arrival, officers found the front door locked from the inside. Fire and rescue personnel were called in, and a ladder truck was used to peer into the house from an upper-floor window. Inside, the house appeared messy, and a dog was seen standing guard.
In a downstairs room, a human skull and two bones were found, with no visible body remains. Due to the overgrown weeds and known presence of monitor lizards in the area, the family suspects the body may have decomposed and been consumed by wild animals.
Personal belongings believed to belong to the deceased were also found at the scene and taken in for further investigation. The case is currently classified as a sudden death, and the remains have been sent to Teluk Intan Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Elder brother Hua Yunmian said he hadn’t seen his brother for nearly a month. The family grew suspicious after noticing his car still parked outside the house despite no signs of activity. He added that they are now awaiting official confirmation from authorities before making any funeral or memorial arrangements.
Investigations are ongoing.
