Two Killed After Heavy Machinery Crushes Trailer Cabin in Miri

Date:

Two men were killed last night when a piece of heavy machinery they were transporting slipped from its trailer and crushed the vehicle’s cabin near a traffic light along Jalan Miri Bypass.

A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the victims were the 55-year-old trailer driver and his 44-year-old attendant.

The machinery fell forward and completely crushed the cabin, trapping both men in their seats. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their bodies were later extricated with the assistance of a crane before being handed over to the police.
