“Some Prayers Don’t Have Words Anymore, Only Tears” — Wife of Bung Moktar Shares Heartfelt Farewell

Date:

Sabah Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin will be laid to rest at the Kg Likas Muslim Cemetery following Friday prayers today.

Bung Moktar, who passed away at 1.46am on Friday (Dec 5) at the age of 66, is survived by two wives, including former actress Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad. In a heartfelt social media post, she wrote, “Some prayers don’t have words anymore, only tears and trust.”

She added, “Tonight, I leave one beloved soul in Allah’s hands and let this moon carry what my heart can’t say out loud,” accompanied by a series of cherished memories from their 16-year marriage.

Tributes also came from Bung Moktar’s former press secretary, Gloria Jaymess, who described him as a kind and resilient leader. “See you again on the other side, Datuk. Al-Fatihah. May Allah grant you Jannah and place you among the righteous,” she wrote.

Gloria recalled the strength Bung Moktar showed during the recent state election campaign despite his illness. “This kind of strength is something only a true fighter carries. Serving as his press secretary was one of the greatest honours of my life,” she added.

She further praised him as a leader who made work easier for his team, showing kindness even in his toughest moments. “Thank you for your guidance, your trust, and your remarkable spirit. Your legacy will stay with us. Rest well, Datuk Bung Moktar Radin,” Gloria concluded.
