Banting Workshop Fire Triggered by Lightning, Damaging Eight Cars and Nearby House

Date:

Eight vehicles were destroyed when a car painting workshop in Sungai Sedu, Banting, went up in flames yesterday evening.

Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the blaze, believed to have been sparked by a lightning strike around 5pm, also spread to a nearby house.

Members of the public spotted the fire and alerted both the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and the police. Firefighters arrived at about 5.20pm and worked for nearly two hours to bring the situation under control.

“The fire has been fully contained, and no casualties were reported. It was completely extinguished around 7.20pm,” he said.

JBPM officers are continuing checks at the site to ensure the area remains safe.
