A 38-year-old father was killed this afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a tanker lorry along Jalan Perak near the Semarak Light Industrial Area.
Nilai district police chief Supt Johari Yahya said the accident occurred around 1pm, involving a Nissan tanker lorry and an SYM motorcycle ridden by the victim, who died at the scene from severe head injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the lorry, travelling from Semarak toward the industrial area, was making a right turn when the motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into it. The lorry driver, 41, and his attendant, 47, were unharmed.
The victim, an assistant librarian at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, was sent to the Rembau Hospital forensics unit for a post-mortem. Both vehicles have been sent to the Senawang Puspakom centre for inspection.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
