Bedridden Son, Elderly Father Killed in Bungalow Blaze

Date:

A tragic fire claimed the lives of a father and his son after their double-storey bungalow in Lorong Haji Sulaiman, Sungai Abong Darat, was engulfed in flames yesterday.

The 30-year-old son, who had been bedridden due to a previous road accident, was discovered dead at the scene with severe burn injuries. His 75-year-old father, who desperately tried to extinguish the fire, later died from breathing complications at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz confirmed the incident, adding that early investigations found no signs of foul play. Both bodies have been sent to the hospital’s forensic unit for post-mortem examinations.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
