Husband and Wife Killed, Son Seriously Injured in Bentong Collision

Date:

A husband and wife were killed, and their 23-year-old son suffered serious injuries after the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Bentong last night.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said the accident occurred around 8pm along Jalan Kuala Lumpur near Kampung Ketari. A team from the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station was deployed at 8.19pm following an emergency call.

“Firefighters extricated the trapped victims and found that the front passenger and one rear passenger had already died,” Zulfadli said, adding that both victims were 51 years old.

The couple’s son, who was driving, was severely injured and taken to Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital for treatment.

The 40-year-old driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at Bentong Hospital.

Preliminary findings indicate that the family was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Bentong when their car collided with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Bentong Hospital for post-mortem examinations, while police investigate the cause of the crash.
