Spa Raided Found to Offer Illegal Sex Services and Gambling Operation

Date:

A spa operating in a shopping mall along Jalan Loke Yew was found to be running illegal activities under the guise of a licensed wellness centre. The spa, which started operations earlier this month, was secretly offering sexual services and organizing gambling sessions. Authorities from the Federal anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) and Cheras district police conducted a raid at 3:15 am yesterday, detaining 54 individuals aged between 19 and 54.

Among those arrested were five local men, four local women, seven Chinese nationals, three Bangladeshi men, six Myanmar men, and 29 foreign women—including 19 from China and 10 from Myanmar. The foreign women were employed as guest relations officers (GROs) and reportedly offered sexual services for RM1,700 per session.

Police revealed that a local woman was involved in organizing the gambling sessions, while four Chinese nationals and three locals were caught actively gambling during the raid. Confiscated items included promotional materials for massages and spa services, business receipts, condoms, mobile phones, lubricants, and gambling equipment.

Although the spa’s official business was massage services, the gambling activities were conducted exclusively for the owner’s associates and not open to the public. The outlet only accepted walk-in customers for massages or sexual services. All detained individuals and seized items were taken to the Cheras district police headquarters for further investigation and action.
