Father and Daughter Escape as Fire Nearly Destroys Home in Kota Samarahan

A 65-year-old father and his 18-year-old daughter escaped unharmed after a fire nearly destroyed their home at Kampung Asajaya Laut in Asajaya on Sunday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a report of the blaze at 8.16pm and dispatched teams from the Asajaya and Kota Samarahan fire stations.

“The house was 80 per cent destroyed, and two vehicles were completely destroyed in the fire. The residents, a father and his daughter, managed to escape without injuries,” Bomba said in a statement.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 9.25pm and concluded the operation at 10.17pm after fully extinguishing the fire.

The cause of the incident and the estimated losses are currently under investigation.
