Residents of Desa Palma apartment in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, were jolted awake by an explosion near the parking area early this morning.
Nilai District deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohamad Asiff Jamaldin said police received a report through the emergency hotline at about 6.30am.
Responding officers found numerous nails scattered across the road and several vehicles damaged by shrapnel from the blast near one of the apartment blocks.
“The fire department was contacted to assist with the investigation and to help secure the area. Investigations are ongoing, including efforts to identify the object that caused the explosion,” he was quoted as saying.
He added that the case has yet to be classified, and police are working to identify and track down the individual responsible.
The Negeri Sembilan police contingent will issue further updates as investigations progress.
