6.5-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Papua New Guinea, No Tsunami Threat To Malaysia

A powerful 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Papua New Guinea region at 6.31pm yesterday.

In a statement, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said the tremor occurred about 43km north of Goroka at a shallow depth of 10km.

The department added that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
