Selangor Umno’s youth wing has issued an ultimatum to Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, giving her 24 hours to delete a social media post that was seen as celebrating former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s failure to secure house arrest for the remainder of his sentence.
Selangor Umno Youth chief Datuk Imran Tamrin said the post was insensitive and could inflame tensions, especially amid ongoing legal and political developments surrounding Najib’s case.
He warned that if the post is not taken down within the stipulated timeframe, Umno’s branch in Puchong would consider severing its political cooperation with Pakatan Harapan in the constituency.
Imran said the matter goes beyond partisan differences, stressing that respect and restraint were needed when commenting on court decisions involving national figures.
As of now, Yeo has not publicly responded to the ultimatum.
