Police have arrested twelve local men and a Vietnamese woman believed to be involved in an armed riot at a restaurant in Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, yesterday.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Raub Selamat said the incident occurred around 3 am when two 27-year-old local men were attacked by a group of men aged between 20 and 40.

“All 13 suspects were arrested between 3 am on the same day and 12.40 am last night at various locations in the district,” he said.

“The victims were attacked with metal chairs and meat cleavers, leaving one with injuries to the head, arm, and calf, as well as scratches on the body,” ACP Raub added.
