A female student who was previously reported missing was found dead inside a car along with a man believed to be her boyfriend at Bandar Sejati Walk here this morning.
The 17-year-old girl and the 18-year-old man were discovered in the rear passenger area of the vehicle at about 8am.
Deputy district police chief Superintendent K. Ramasamy said police, together with a forensic team from the Sabah police headquarters, rushed to the scene after receiving information from the public about the discovery.
Initial inspections found that all the car windows were tightly closed and locked, and that the victims’ personal belongings were still with them.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the male victim had left his house last Friday to meet the student, after which both of them could no longer be contacted,” he said.
Ramasamy added that the male victim’s father later located his car in the parking area at Bandar Sejati Walk and discovered the bodies after opening the vehicle using a spare key.
He said initial findings did not indicate any elements of crime or foul play. Both bodies were sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for post-mortem examinations, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
