Assets worth RM11.4 million have been seized from two residences belonging to a former Chief of the Malaysian Army, including a secret property located in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the seizures were also carried out at a house in Besut, Terengganu.
Speaking at a special press conference in Putrajaya today, Azam displayed the seized items linked to the case involving the former army chief.
He said MACC had also frozen 75 company bank accounts involving a total of RM32.5 million in the investigation.
“Among the items seized were RM4.4 million in cash, foreign currencies valued at RM1.4 million, a Range Rover SVR valued at RM360,000, and 26 luxury watches worth RM2.3 million.
“Jewellery valued at RM294,039.90 was also seized, including two diamond rings worth RM20,000, gold bars weighing 3.7 kilogrammes valued at RM2.5 million, a 150-gram gold medallion worth RM102,000, and two gold dinars weighing 8.5 grammes valued at RM5,780,” he said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
