Body of Woman Washed Ashore in Bayu Damai, Police Probe Case

The body of an unidentified woman, believed to have drowned, was found at Lubuk Sepang beach in the Bayu Damai area of Pengerang on Thursday morning.

Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said police received a report from members of the public at about 10.40am regarding a woman’s body that had washed ashore.

Preliminary investigations found that the woman had died at the scene and bore injury marks on her right thigh. However, her identity has yet to be confirmed, and the cause of death remains under investigation.

The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR). The body will be sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for a post-mortem examination scheduled for 9am tomorrow.

Police have urged anyone with information related to the case, or those with missing family members, to contact investigating officer Inspector Hafizi Said at 017-925 2768, any nearby police station, or the Kota Tinggi district police headquarters hotline at 07-883 1222.
