S’porean Woman Files Police Report After Stall Puts Chilli Inside Her Noodles

Date:

A woman in Singapore has filed a police report after a coffee shop stall allegedly messed up her noodle order twice, leaving her frustrated and upset.

The woman, identified only as Carol, told Stomp that the incident happened on Jan 13 at a stall in a coffee shop along Serangoon North Avenue 1.

Carol said she ordered a bowl of prawn dumpling noodles but discovered upon reaching home that the stall had given her chicken feet instead. She returned to the stall to request a change.

According to Carol, the vendor agreed to redo the order and asked whether she wanted chilli. She claimed she clearly indicated “no chilli” several times. However, she alleged that the vendor threw the food onto the table roughly, leaving her shocked.

When she returned home and ate the noodles, Carol said she was surprised to find chilli inside the prawn dumplings, making the dish spicy.

Angered by the mistake, she took a bus back to the coffee shop to confront the vendor but found the stall already closed. After learning that the vendor had gone home, Carol went to the Serangoon North Neighbourhood Police Post to lodge a report. She later shared a photo of her police case card with Stomp.

Carol said the experience caused her to lose her appetite and that she would not patronise the stall again.

“The food is not free. I paid for it and had such a bad experience,” she said.
