Woman’s Body Found Washed Ashore at Pengerang Beach, Police Probe Injuries

The body of a woman believed to have drowned was discovered along Lubuk Sepang Beach in Bayu Damai, Pengerang, this morning.

Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said authorities received a public report at about 10.40am after the body was found washed ashore.

“Initial investigations indicate that the victim had died at the scene and sustained injury marks on her right thigh,” he said in a statement.

The victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed, and police are still investigating the cause of death.

The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR). The body will be sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for a post-mortem examination scheduled for 9am tomorrow.

Superintendent Yusof urged anyone with information related to the incident or who may have missing family members to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Hafizi Said, at 017-925 2768, the nearest police station, or the Kota Tinggi district police headquarters hotline at 07-883 1222.
