The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) will take over the entire pre-university system, including Form Six and matriculation, starting next year.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said students entering these programs will be considered part of higher education. He made the remarks during the launch of the National Education Plan 2026–2035 today.
Meanwhile, he announced that the government has approved RM100 million to upgrade teachers’ classrooms nationwide. The Prime Minister noted that over 30% of classrooms are currently uncomfortable and unsafe.
