Kuantan Launches Scan2Park: Pay Parking via QR Code

Date:

The Kuantan City Council has launched a QR code-based parking payment system, called Scan2Park, to provide motorists in the state capital with more convenient digital payment options.

The system allows users to scan QR codes displayed at designated parking zones and make payments directly via their mobile phones.

Kuantan Mayor Datuk Zaliza Zulkipli said the new QR-based system complements the existing Pahang Go mobile application.

“The council has also set up kiosks at several locations across the city to guide the public on using the new system,” he said. “We are committed to improving service quality and greatly appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation in making this initiative a success.”

The move comes after public complaints about payment difficulties following the discontinuation of autopay parking terminals on Dec 31.

Scan2Park redirects users to a council payment page, where they can select their parking duration and complete transactions through various digital channels.

In April 2024, the council transitioned to a fully digital parking system, ending the use of scratch-and-display parking coupons. Previously, motorists could pay via the Pahang Go app or at blue parking terminals, but the council terminated the service of the parking management operator responsible for those terminals last month.
