A Mazda sales advisor in Malaysia has gone viral after appealing to customers not to demand excessive freebies when buying the Mazda 3.
In an anonymous post shared in the Mazda 3 Skyactiv Malaysia Facebook group, the advisor urged buyers of the Mazda 3 1.5L, especially those taking a full loan, to avoid pressuring sales staff for additional perks.
“You’re already asking for a full loan. What the sales advisor gives is more than enough,” the post said.
The advisor added that in some cases, staff even pay out of their own pockets to cover the cost of these extras, noting that the commission earned from selling the Mazda 3 is relatively small. “Sometimes the sales advisor even pays out of their own pocket for you. The commission for the Mazda 3 isn’t much.”
The post quickly sparked debate online. Some netizens criticised the advisor’s stance, saying customers could simply approach a different salesperson if requests were not met. Others argued that it is the salesperson’s job to negotiate better deals with the dealership rather than personally covering costs or blaming buyers.
