Chinese Couple Arrested in Sentul Condo Drug Raid, Find Ketamine, MDMA, Cocaine Worth RM164k

Date:

Police have dismantled a drug processing syndicate following a raid on a luxury condominium unit in Sentul.

Sentul police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said a Chinese couple, aged 46 and 39, were arrested during a 9 pm operation on January 22.

Officers initially found a clear plastic packet containing 34.90 grammes of ketamine on a living room table. “Further checks in a second room uncovered a drug processing laboratory along with materials suspected for processing, packaging, and storing various types of drugs,” he said at a press conference.

Seized items included 1,878.90 grammes of ketamine, 380 grammes of methamphetamine, 62 grammes of cocaine, and 7,151 grammes of MDMA powder. Police also found 10 plastic bottles containing a liquid suspected to be MDMA, weighing 37,445 grammes, in a wardrobe. The total estimated value of the seizure is RM164,496.

Initial investigations indicate the syndicate had been operating for about three months, with the suspects renting the luxury condo specifically for drug processing.

“The male suspect has been in Malaysia since November last year, while his wife arrived about a week ago,” Ahmad Sukarno added.

A urine test showed the female suspect tested positive for drugs, while her husband tested negative. Both have valid passports and visit visas, with no prior criminal records.

The unemployed couple is on remand until January 29 for further investigations and are being probed under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
