A police transport truck carrying 10 detainees overturned after losing control at a junction in Rembau this morning, leaving all occupants injured.
The accident, involving a police “Black Maria” truck, occurred at about 9.40am at a junction along the Rembau–Tampin road near the Rembau town area. At the time, the detainees were being transported from Seremban Prison to the Rembau Court.
Rembau deputy police chief Superintendent Azmi Ali confirmed the incident, saying the truck lost control while making a right turn at the junction.
“Four detainees sustained injuries, while the remaining six suffered minor abrasions,” he said, adding that five police officers were escorting the detainees in a separate multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
The injured detainees were assisted by the escorting officers before being taken by ambulance to Rembau Hospital for further treatment.
Personnel from the Rembau district police headquarters’ escort and traffic units were deployed to manage the scene and provide initial assistance.
