Tragic Four-Vehicle Crash in Temerloh Claims Life of Assistant Medical Officer

Date:

A tragic four-vehicle collision at Km26 of Jalan Jerantut-Temerloh claimed the life of assistant medical officer Sathiyan Raja Gopal, 43, this morning. He was driving a Proton Saga and was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

Temerloh police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron, said preliminary investigations indicate the crash began when a Perodua Alza, traveling from Temerloh to Jerantut, stopped to turn right at the Kampung Dato’ Shariff Ahmad junction and was rear-ended by a trailer. The collision caused the Alza to swerve into the opposite lane, hitting the Proton Saga, and was subsequently struck by a Toyota Hilux approaching from the same direction.

The Alza driver, 42-year-old Agoes Zaid Haritha Mohamad, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh.

Authorities believe the accident resulted from the trailer driver’s negligence and are investigating under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
