Grab Malaysia has issued an apology following a viral incident in Johor involving allegations that a female passenger was sexually harassed by an e-hailing driver.

The apology was posted in the comments section of an online news portal that had published footage of the incident. The video, recorded by the woman, has since been widely shared on social media.

In its statement, Grab said it was deeply sorry and acknowledged the seriousness of the matter.

“This should never have happened. We are aware of the report and are actively reaching out to the affected passenger to investigate the incident and provide appropriate support. We take this seriously and will take action in accordance with our policies,” the company said.

Earlier, police said they were working to identify the e-hailing driver allegedly involved in the incident, which came to light after the video went viral online.

Johor Baru Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said that, as of now, no police report has been lodged in connection with the case.
