Man Dies After Falling From Petai Tree In Kupang Orchard

Date:

A 34-year-old man was found dead, believed to have fallen from a petai tree at an orchard in Kampung Bukit Hijau, Kupang, earlier today.

Baling district police chief Superintendent Brandon Richard Joe said authorities received a report at 12.22pm after the man was discovered unconscious on the ground near a petai tree at the orchard, which is owned by the victim’s uncle.

Medical officers from the Ministry of Health (MOH) later confirmed that the man had died at the scene.

“Preliminary examinations found no signs of criminal elements on the body. The victim is believed to have fallen while harvesting petai,” he said in a statement today.

The body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Baling Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
