Thai action star Tony Jaa is reportedly receiving treatment for gallbladder cancer after being diagnosed in June 2024.
According to local media reports, the actor initially experienced abdominal pain and jaundice, which led to further medical examinations confirming the disease. Sources close to him revealed that the cancer was at stage 3, approaching stage 4, at the time of diagnosis. However, aggressive treatment, including surgery and chemotherapy, has shown positive results.
Channel 3 reported that Tony Jaa’s condition is now more stable, though he remains under close medical supervision. Concerns among fans grew after he appeared noticeably thinner in recent social media posts, despite his official Facebook page not mentioning the illness.
In his latest update on 31 January, Tony Jaa focused solely on promoting his new music video, One More Round.
Born Tatchakorn Yeerum, Tony Jaa celebrated his 50th birthday this week. He rose to international fame with the 2003 film Ong Bak, which showcased his Muay Thai skills and paved the way for opportunities in Hong Kong and Hollywood films.
