A 17-year-old teenager has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead his neighbour after believing claims that the victim had an affair with his mother.
Thanyaburi police received reports of the incident around 1pm on Wednesday, according to The Thaiger News. The victim, 41-year-old restaurant manager Paisarn, was riding a motorcycle when he was shot from behind.
Authorities confirmed that Paisarn sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene. A local resident told police that the victim had previously expressed concerns for his safety after being accused of having an affair with the teen’s mother.
CCTV footage later revealed that the shooter was the victim’s neighbour’s son, identified as Mhoo, 17. Police apprehended the suspect as he was preparing to flee and seized a .38-caliber pistol.
During questioning, Mhoo reportedly admitted to firing the shot, citing repeated claims from his father that the victim had an illicit relationship with his mother. The teenager said his anger escalated after hearing the victim deny the allegations using offensive language, which worsened ongoing tensions between his parents and placed emotional pressure on him.
The suspect is now in custody under juvenile procedures while police continue their investigation.
