Singapore police are probing an incident at Lucky Plaza last Sunday (Feb 8) where a man was caught on video kicking a woman to the ground. Authorities confirmed a report has been filed and investigations are ongoing.
Footage circulating on social media shows the man kicking the woman in the back, causing her to fall, before he loses his balance and is restrained by bystanders amid screams and vulgarities.
The Philippine Embassy in Singapore acknowledged the incident on Wednesday, describing it as an alleged assault “on a Filipina by a man whose citizenship has yet to be confirmed.” The embassy said it has reached out to the victim and is coordinating with the Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to provide necessary support.
Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac told GMA News TV that the agency is reviewing the case and will pursue legal action if required. He added that the victim will receive medical and legal assistance as needed, while authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
