Father Jailed 6 Years in Singapore for Sexual Abuse After Discovering Daughter’s Private Photos

Date:

A 54-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of sexual assault against his biological daughter. The court heard that the defendant used the guise of “parental education” to justify the abuse after discovering private photos on the teenager’s phone.

The incident occurred on May 12, 2024, after the father discovered his daughter had exchanged intimate photos with a male classmate. Enraged, the man lured the girl into a bedroom and locked the door. Despite the victim’s repeated apologies and pleas for forgiveness, the father forced her to undress while shouting, “You brought this on yourself,” before sexually assaulting her.

The abuse continued into the night, as the father ordered the girl to shower with the door open and forced her to change clothes in front of him while hurling verbal insults. He then committed a second sexual assault later that same night.

Seeking safety, the victim initially fled to her aunt’s house, but was eventually tracked down and brought back by her father. Desperate, she turned to her mother for help. When confronted by his wife, the man admitted to “touching” the girl, claiming he merely wanted to “teach her a lesson.” The mother immediately reported the matter to the police.

During sentencing, the prosecution emphasized the “extreme exploitation” of the father-daughter power dynamic, noting the profound psychological trauma inflicted upon the victim. Because Singaporean law exempts offenders over the age of 50 from caning, the court added an additional nine months of imprisonment in lieu of physical punishment. On the 23rd, the judge finalized the total sentence to six years of incarceration across three separate charges.
