Subang Jaya Drug Lab Operation Yields 214 Chemical Drums, Equipment Seized

Date:

Authorities have uncovered an illicit drug-processing laboratory following a raid on a warehouse in Taman Perindustrian Subang, Subang Jaya, Selangor on 2 March.

Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, Director of Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, said the operation was carried out by the Subang Jaya District Narcotics Investigation Unit following intelligence tips and public complaints.

“During the inspection, various chemicals and equipment believed to be used in drug processing were seized,” he told a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre on Monday.

Officials confiscated 214 drums of liquid suspected to be chemicals, three drums containing powdery substances, five bottles of powdery chemicals, 0.94kg of chemical powder, along with five machines and three glass containers believed to be used in drug production.

Investigations indicate that the syndicate has been active since October 2024. The group reportedly used false identities to rent the warehouse at RM6,500 per month.

Hussein explained that the syndicate’s method involved converting industrial-area warehouses into illegal drug labs before distributing the substances across the Klang Valley.

“The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he added.
