Armed Robbery Attempt Foiled at PJ Goldsmith, Suspect Dead, No Loot Taken

A goldsmith outlet in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur became the scene of a fatal confrontation on Monday morning when a suspected robber was shot dead by a security guard.

The incident occurred at around 11am, when the man, reportedly arriving on a motorcycle, entered the shop armed with a sharp object and attempted a robbery. No customers were inside at the time.

Initial struggle ensued between the suspect and one security guard, who was overpowered and injured. A second guard then drew his firearm and fired two shots, fatally wounding the suspect.

The suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police confirmed that no jewellery was stolen during the attempted robbery.

Authorities, including forensic teams, remain at the scene as investigations continue under the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters.
