Khairy Jamaluddin Submits Appeal To Rejoin UMNO

Date:

Former UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has formally submitted an appeal to return to United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), marking a potential step toward reconciliation with the party after his expulsion four years ago.

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shared the development on Facebook on Monday, revealing that Khairy had personally delivered the appeal letter during a visit on Sunday night. Zahid said he received the request in the spirit of unity and described the moment as aligned with the party’s “Rumah Bangsa” initiative aimed at reuniting members who had previously parted ways.

According to Zahid, the appeal will be forwarded to the Rumah Bangsa Unity Committee, chaired by Mohamed Khaled Nordin, for further review and consideration before any decision is made.

He emphasised that reconciliation remains an important goal for the party, stressing that efforts should focus on rebuilding unity rather than allowing divisions to persist. Zahid expressed hope that the Rumah Bangsa initiative would help bring former members back together and strengthen UMNO’s political base.

Khairy had earlier publicly expressed his intention to return to the party through the Rumah Bangsa agenda. He described Zahid’s openness to reconciliation without conditions as a positive development and a meaningful opportunity for him to rejoin UMNO.
