Despite debunking the digital fakes, the actress remained characteristically elusive regarding her actual marital status. When pressed by Kimmel on whether a private ceremony had indeed taken place, Zendaya playfully deflected the question. Speculation had reached a fever pitch earlier this month after her long-time stylist, Law Roach, teased reporters at the Actors Awards, suggesting that the public had already “missed” the nuptials and insisting that reports of a marriage were “very true.”

Observers noted that the actress pointedly displayed rings on her wedding finger while posing for photographers, making no effort to conceal the jewellery.
