A 29-year-old woman, identified only as Fah, has come forward with disturbing allegations of sexual assault following a road traffic accident in Bangkok. The victim claims that after losing consciousness during a motorcycle crash, she was purportedly taken to a private residence by a man who initially appeared to be a Good Samaritan offering assistance. This harrowing incident, which took place in the early hours of the morning, has since ignited widespread discussion regarding public safety and the efficiency of local law enforcement procedures.
According to reports from Thai media outlets, the chain of events began on 9 March around 3:00 am after Fah and her partner attended a birthday celebration in the Lat Phrao district. While travelling home, the motorcycle they were riding crashed in the Pho Kaew area, an accident Fah attributes to her partner operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. In the immediate aftermath of the collision, two bystanders stopped their vehicles to help, one of whom was later identified as a man named Somsak, the individual now at the centre of these serious accusations.
Fah recounted that she was in a state of semi-consciousness following the impact and has no clear memory of the events that transpired immediately after the crash. When she eventually regained full awareness, she was shocked to find herself entirely unclothed inside a room at Somsak’s residence located in Soi Lam Luk Ka 27. Taking advantage of a moment when the suspect was in the bathroom, she managed to contact her friends and share her live location to seek urgent help.
The victim further alleged that when Somsak exited the bathroom, he took her mobile phone and informed her friends that he would be transporting her to a nearby medical facility for treatment. However, instead of taking her to a hospital, he reportedly dropped her off at the entrance of a small lane, claiming his motorcycle had run out of fuel and instructing her to find her own way to a doctor. Following this suspicious encounter, Fah proceeded to a hospital for a forensic examination as she strongly suspected she had been violated while incapacitated.
Adding to the complexity of the case, Fah’s partner claimed that he was under the mistaken impression that she was still on the motorcycle after the initial crash and continued driving until he met with a second accident. It was only after he was hospitalised for his own injuries that he realised his partner was missing. Although the couple later attempted to confront Somsak at his home, neighbours informed them that the man had already vacated the premises and moved away.
Despite filing an official report with the Khu Khot Police Station, Fah expressed deep frustration over what she perceived as a sluggish investigation, eventually turning to social media influencer Tamanan Taengtim to highlight her plight. She claimed that authorities initially tasked her with gathering her own evidence, yet her attempts to secure vital CCTV footage were rebuffed by property owners who insisted on only releasing the data to uniformed officers. While police have since visited the suspect’s former residence, they noted that no definitive evidence has been uncovered yet, though they have pledged to summon relevant parties for questioning as the investigation continues.
