Army Member Dies At Scene Of Horrific Midnight Crash Involving Two Motorcycles And Car

Date:

A 26-year-old member of the armed forces lost his life in a devastating road accident involving two motorcycles and a car at Jalan Padang Kemunting early this morning. The victim, who was riding a Yamaha RXZ, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at approximately 2:20 AM. Medical responders confirmed that the soldier succumbed to severe head injuries, while the impact of the collision resulted in the tragic loss of his right arm.

According to Melaka Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief, Superintendent Muhammad Zaki Ramat, preliminary investigations suggest the victim was travelling from the direction of Sungai Udang towards Pengkalan Balak. The accident is believed to have been triggered when the motorcyclist attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of him. During this manoeuvre, his motorcycle reportedly entered the opposite lane, leading to a head-on confrontation with oncoming traffic.

The victim’s motorcycle collided with a SYM VF3i motorcycle and a Proton Saga car that were travelling from the opposite direction. The force of the multiple impacts left the military personnel with catastrophic injuries that proved fatal almost instantly. Debris from the three vehicles was scattered across the stretch of Jalan Padang Kemunting as emergency services arrived to manage the site and assist the other involved parties.

The second motorcyclist involved in the crash sustained serious injuries, including a broken leg and a fractured right arm. He was rushed to Melaka Hospital for urgent medical treatment, where he remains under observation. Meanwhile, the driver of the Proton Saga, a 29-year-old woman, was reported to be physically unharmed following the collision, although the vehicle sustained significant damage from the impact.

The deceased has been transported to the Alor Gajah Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem examination to officially determine the cause of death. Authorities are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Police have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact Traffic Investigation Officer Inspector Loh Gia Xao at 019-5382353 to assist with the ongoing probe.
