The Shah Alam District Police have initiated a search for two male suspects believed to be involved in the theft of a Proton Wira from a staff parking area at Section 33 recently. Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol, confirmed that a formal report was lodged by the victim, a man in his 20s, after discovering his vehicle missing from the premises along Jalan Salung 33/26. The incident has since gained significant attention on social media platforms, including Threads, where netizens have shared details of the theft.
According to the official police statement, the complainant had parked his vehicle at the workplace parking lot on Saturday, 21 March, before traveling to his hometown in Tumpat, Kelantan. Upon his return at approximately 1:14 AM last Tuesday, the victim discovered that his car was no longer at the location where it had been left. Preliminary investigations indicate that the theft occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday, while the owner was still away on his trip.
Further police findings revealed that the complainant is an employee at the premises and that the specific parking area was not monitored by security guards at the time of the incident. This lack of physical surveillance likely provided the perpetrators with an opportunity to carry out the crime undetected by personnel. However, investigators have since been able to retrieve crucial digital evidence from the scene to assist in identifying those responsible for the vehicle’s disappearance.
A review of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the surrounding area showed two male suspects arriving at the scene in a separate vehicle. The footage depicts the individuals working in tandem to steal the victim’s Proton Wira before fleeing the location. Police are currently analysing the recordings to determine the registration number and model of the vehicle used by the suspects during the commission of the crime.
Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol has urged members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or possess any relevant information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. Individuals can contact the Assistant Investigating Officer, Sergeant Rafiah Isa, at 012-3770327 or reach out directly to the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters at 03-55202222. The case is currently being handled with urgency as authorities work to track down the suspects and recover the stolen property.
