Egypt Commits To Facilitating 374 Tonnes Of Malaysian Humanitarian Aid To Gaza

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Egypt has provided a definitive guarantee to assist in the distribution of 374 tonnes of Malaysian humanitarian supplies to Palestinians in Gaza. This commitment follows high-level discussions between the Prime Minister and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aimed at securing vital logistical cooperation. Starting this April, the aid is scheduled to transit through the Rafah border crossing to reach those affected by the ongoing crisis.

In a recent update shared via social media, Anwar expressed his gratitude, noting that President El-Sisi’s assurance is a critical step in ensuring the mission’s success. The facilitation of this corridor is expected to provide immediate relief to more than 100,000 Gazans who are currently facing extreme hardship. The Prime Minister emphasised that the coordination between the two nations is essential for navigating the complex delivery process required for such a large-scale operation.

Anwar further asserted that Malaysia remains steadfast in its humanitarian mission, declaring that the nation will not be deterred by external obstacles. He specifically pointed to the challenges posed by the Israeli Zionist regime, which continues to impede international aid efforts. Despite these hurdles, the Prime Minister maintained that Malaysia’s resolve to deliver the necessary food, medical supplies, and basic necessities remains unshaken.

Addressing the global response to the situation, Anwar remarked that Malaysia intends to serve as a principled and dignified voice on the world stage. He criticised the indifference and hypocrisy seen in some international quarters, reaffirming Malaysia’s position as a defender of the rights of the oppressed. The Prime Minister’s statement underscores a broader foreign policy stance that prioritises human rights and direct action in conflict zones.

Closing his message, the Prime Minister called upon the public to offer their prayers for the safety and smooth execution of the mission. He expressed hope that the logistics will proceed without further delay so that the Malaysian contribution can reach brothers and sisters in Gaza safely. This latest shipment represents a significant portion of Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to providing sustainable support to the Palestinian population.
