36-Year-Old Woman Killed After Car Crashes Into Palm Tree In Kota Tinggi

A 36-year-old woman was killed after her vehicle lost control and veered off the road at Km2 of Jalan Lok Heng–Mawai, crashing into a palm tree earlier today.

District police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said the driver suffered severe internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her remains have been sent to the forensic unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries penalties of five to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine ranging from RM20,000 to RM50,000, and a minimum five-year driving disqualification upon conviction.

Police have urged motorists to exercise caution and comply with traffic regulations to help reduce road accidents and improve road safety.
